Passburst Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2026-10-15

Passburst helps a cook photograph tonight's plated special, split it into a station board of components, and lay the next plate from that board. This policy describes what happens to the information you put into the app.

No account, no Passburst server

Passburst has no sign-in and runs no server of its own. Your dishes, station boards, plate stills, notes and settings are stored on your iPhone in the app's own storage. We do not receive a copy of them.

Information that stays on your device

  • Plate photos. Stills you take with the camera or choose from your photo library.
  • Dish book. Dish names, station and service, components, placements, plate stills you accept, and short notes the coach keeps about what you accepted, corrected or prefer.
  • Settings. Your AI sharing choice and reminder preferences.

You can delete any dish from the Dish Book. Deleting the app removes everything Passburst stored on the device.

The AI coach and what it sends

Passburst's coach uses two third-party AI services. Nothing is sent to either one until you tap Allow on the consent ticket, and you can switch AI sharing off at any time in Settings, which stops further requests.

  • DeepSeek (api.deepseek.com) writes the station breakdown. For the dish you are working on it receives the plated still, the station and service, component names and placements, text you type or dictate, and the coach's short notes about your earlier choices for that dish.
  • MiniMax (api.minimax.cn) generates a plate still. It receives a text prompt only, built from the dish ticket and component names. Your own photos are not sent to MiniMax.

These requests are made directly from your iPhone to the providers, which process them under their own privacy policies. Avoid photographing people: Passburst does not detect or remove faces, so anything visible in the still goes to DeepSeek with it.

Microphone and speech

When you speak a component, iOS's speech recognizer turns your voice into text. Where your device supports it the recognition happens on the device; otherwise Apple may process the audio under Apple's own terms. Passburst does not send recordings to DeepSeek or MiniMax, only the resulting text.

Photos and camera

The camera is used to photograph the plate. Library access lets you pick an existing still. Add-only Photos access lets Passburst save an accepted plate still back to your library.

Notifications

If you turn reminders on, Passburst schedules local notifications on your device. No push service is used.

Tracking, ads and purchases

Passburst does not track you across apps or websites, shows no ads, contains no analytics or attribution SDKs, and has no in-app purchases.

Children

Passburst is a kitchen tool and is not directed at children under 13.
